Stepping out into the student parking lot, I see Damian playing with my little girl. A small pink teddy bear is in his gloved hands. He tickles Stormy, having the bear give her kisses, and her squeals of joy melt my heart. There's that feeling again, hope. I love this side of D. Wait, love? My heart swells at the thought, as I realize I love this pack, my pack. They might be everything I've ever wanted and I'm so ready for some joy in life. Tears gloss over my eyes, but I quickly blink them away. Stormy is running to me. Her face lights up with a huge grin. Not wanting to upset her, I try not to let her see my emotions and possibly worry her.

"Mommy, mommy, I'm hungry!" She yells. Jumping up and down like a little jumping bean. Her little brown curls bouncing in her eyes. I pick her up and give her some kisses, while spinning her in a circle, giggling with her as I set her back on the ground. She really does brighten my life and if this pack lets her, maybe she can brighten theirs too. My eyes search out Silas and Magnus, who are both watching us with smiles of their own.

Silas comes over with a smile growing on his lips, and crouches down to her level. He's dressed in dark jeans and a black henley that's fitted snugly across his back. It's unfair how a simple shirt and jeans can look so good on him. His blond hair is messy and falling in his eyes, as he addresses Stormy first.

"I'm hungry too, Sunny girl," he says with a wink. "What would you like to eat? I could go for some pizza." His voice is full of excitement as he talks about feeding her. That's the thing about Silas he always makes sure his pack is taken care of. Like he did for me in the cafeteria the day we met. Seeing him include Stormy settles something in me.

"Cheese!" My little girl squeals with delight. The nickname Silas calls Stormy fills me with joy. Her outburst causes all the men to smile, even Magnus. But that smile has kept me going this last year. If it wasn't for her, I would have given up a long time ago. My emotions overwhelm me at the thought. Stormy really is a ray of sunshine in this dark cloud that is our life. Maybe, just maybe, there will be clear skies in our future.

As if Magnus can sense my pain, he comes up behind me and rests a hand on my shoulder. For the first time, I didn't flinch at the contact. The feeling grounds me and I take a deep breath before turning to him. Gosh, he's so tall. Taking a step back so I can see him better, I give him a small smile in thanks. Magnus leads us over to the SUV and he straps Stormy into a car seat that was already in the car.
